Human Resources Support Specialist - Journeyman

POSITION OVERVIEW

DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a junior Human Resources Support Specialist for a position supporting the Contingency Operations (CO) Department at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) located at Fort Belvoir VA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide support in tracking human resource actions and activities related to recruitment (hiring and onboarding) retention and awards programs for Civilians and Military.
• Support the CO Department with honorary civilian awards to include assisting with drafting proofing and submitting all documentation required into appropriate DTRA workflow platforms.
• Perform complex tasks involving gathering analyzing and compiling data and information into well-written reports and presentations to support senior leader decision making.
• Maintain awareness of annual due outs such as the Departments military evaluations and assist with in processing and out-processing employees as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Possess an active Secret security clearance
• High School Diploma
• 5 years experience in professional Government-agency military or corporate experience human resource support
• Strong experience in civilian hiring process whether CONUS or OCONUS classified or not
• Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with a high-level of accountability.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear concise and articulate correspondence with a focus on quality control and attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of coordination requirements for the successful preparation and approval of reports briefings memoranda and presentations.
• Ability to prioritize multi-task plan problem solve and adapt in a fast-paced and strategic environment under minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g. TEAMS Word PowerPoint Excel and Project).

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree desired
